Tom Cruise and Zac Efron — BFFS!

According to a new report from American tabloid the National Enquirer, the actors — who have both had their fair share of gay rumors — have been spending quite a bit of time together lately.

“Tom (48) and Zac clicked the minute they met,” a source said.

“Zac is hungry to make the transition from teenage idol to movie superstar – and he’s using Tom’s career as a template for success.

“And Tom’s using Zac because he’s desperate to connect with a younger audience.”

Shortly after their initial meeting, Tom invited the High School Musical twink to his Beverly Hills house, gave him chopper repair tips, and showed him his bike collection.

“Since then, the two stars have talked by phone several times a week,” the source said.
