Nicolas Cage wants to focus on family films

Nicolas Cage is planning to star in only family-friendly movies — so his four-year-old son can watch his famous father on the big screen.

The actor — who stars in upcoming Disney action adventure The Sorcerer’s Apprentice — says he’s turning his back on dark and sinister film roles.

“I really believe it’s one of the better ways I can apply myself as a film actor,” said Cage.

“Somebody once said to me that world peace begins at home and in my own little way if I can give families a ritual something to look forward to sharing with their children, even if it’s only for a day, they have a smile on their face maybe they don’t do something angry later in life.”
