Dr Dre has been honoured with an ASCAP Founders Award. According to All Hip Hop, the producer was acknowledged for his contributions to the music industry in Los Angeles during the 23rd annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.
Paying homage through special performances were Prince, Ne-Yo, Janelle Monae, T.I. and Eminem, who co-presented the Founders Award to Dre with ASCAP president and chairman Paul Williams.
While inducting Dre, Eminem said: “What makes him so important personally is he believed in me. And for that I am forever grateful.”
Dre recently said that his new track ‘Under Pressure’ was not finished when it appeared online.
