Lil Wayne agrees court deal
Lil Wayne has agreed a plea bargain deal.
The `Lollipop’ star – who is currently serving an eight-month prison sentence in a New York jail after pleading guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in a separate case – appeared in an Arizona court via video link on Friday (18.06.10) to answer charges relating to drugs and weapon possession.
Lil Wayne – real name Dwayne Carter- pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug, and will now no longer face charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He may now receive 36 months of probation for his guilty plea, which is likely to begin when he is released from prison later this year.
His guilty plea relates to an incident when he was stopped at U.S. Border control and found cocaine, Ecstasy and a handgun on his tour bus.
Another hearing will take place on June 30.
