Michael Jackson’s kids ‘coping well’

Michael Jackson’s children are “coping well” as the first anniversary of their father’s death approaches. The ‘Thriller’ singer died of acute Propofol intoxication on June 25 aged 50 and while his three kids – Prince Michael, 13, 12-year-old Paris and eight-year-old Prince Michael II, known as Blanket – still miss their father terribly, they are continuing to move on with their lives.

Dieter Wiesner, who managed Michael from 1996 to 2003, said: “It’s obvious their world has completely changed after Michael’s death. It’s still a difficult situation but they’re coping well. Blanket and Paris are quite outgoing, Prince is rather quiet.”

The children are currently being looked after by Michael’s mother Katherine Jackson but Dieter worries what will happen when their grandmother eventually passes away.

He told Germany’s Gala magazine: “They’re being taken care of. Katherine is a good-hearted woman.

“But as far as I know it hasn’t been decided what will happen when Katherine can’t do it anymore. Let’s put it this way – it could become a huge contentious issue within the family. A lot of things are still in the open.”

Katherine recently revealed the children are to start school in September in the hope they can make some friends of their own age.

She said: “They don’t have any friends. They don’t go to school, they have private lessons at home – but that will change in September, when they are due to enrol at private college. But they have their cousins and aunts and uncles around them constantly, and that’s helped them immensely.

“To them, it’s normal, it’s the life they have known. They have a certain time to go to bed, then they get up and get dressed for lessons. They practise karate and swim, which they love.”
