Calista Flockhart belongs with Harrison
Calista Flockhart and Harrison Ford “belong together”. The couple married in a secret ceremony last Tuesday (15.06.10) – after eight years of dating – and the actress’ ‘Brothers and Sisters’ co-star Gilles Marini couldn’t be happier for the pair.
Gilles said: “Those two definitely belong to each other. I’m so happy for them.”
Calista and Harrison – who got engaged 16 months ago – surprised many people with their shock wedding, but Gilles insists he thought it was a “normal” thing for the pair to do.
He added to People magazine: “Why tie the knot now, after eight years of dating? Why not?
“I think this is what it’s all about. After all that time I think it’s normal.”
Calista, 45, and Harrison, 67, wed at the Santa Fe mansion of New Mexico’s state governor Bill Richardson – who presided over the ceremony with the assistance of the state’s Chief Justice, Charles W. Daniels – with the actress’ adopted son Liam, nine, and the governor’s wife in attendance.
Despite not being present for their big day, the actor’s eldest son Ben – from his first marriage to Mary Marquardt – couldn’t be happier with the union.
He said last week: “Those crazy kids went off and eloped I think it is wonderful that they finally made it legit. It is really terrific news. I’m so happy for them.”
