Harrison Ford’s ‘compelling’ role

Harrison Ford finds his new film “compelling”. The veteran actor – who is currently starring as scientist Dr Robert Stonehill in ‘Extraordinary Measures’ – reveals he is pleased to be playing a role which is different from his usual characters.

He said: “I’m not Indiana Jones, I’m an actor. I just work and it’s important for my career to play different kinds of characters. I thought ‘Extraordinary Measures’ was a compelling story of a father’s devotion and courage in forging a path through the deep woods to attend to the terrible dilemma that his kids are in.”

Harrison – who married ‘Ally McBeal’ star Calista Flockhart earlier this week (15.06.10) – also believes the drama covers important issues for the US.

He continued: “It deals with problems of healthcare and the difficulty of getting a drug through the pharmaceutical industry and approved by the federal government in America.”

As well as appearing in ‘Extraordinary Measures’, Harrison worked in production, and claims he will happily be “scary” if the cast don’t follow orders.

He told the Metro: “As a producer I don’t see myself as the boss, I’m a collaborator. Am I scary? I hope so, if necessary. Very little makes me angry. I lose my temper very rarely.”

Harrison is currently filming his new film ‘Cowboys and Aliens’ in New Mexico.
