Ozzy Osbourne living ‘every minute’

Ozzy Osbourne will never retire from music and says he is living now for “every minute”. The heavy metal singer is gearing up to release his tenth solo LP, ‘Scream’, this month and is heading out on tour and the 61-year-old star intends to make the most of every day now he is older.

Ozzy admits his outlook on life has been affected by the recent deaths of fellow heavy metal musicians Ronnie James Dio – the singer who replaced him in Black Sabbath – and Slipknot bassist Paul Gray.

He said: “When I was 20 I thought I had the rest of my life. At 30 I was still relatively young. At 40 I was getting a bit dodgy. When you get to 60 you’re on the downward slide. I’m 61 now. In the past month so many guys I know have died. Ronnie James Dio died of cancer, a guy from Slipknot killed himself… you have to live for each minute. In my youth I’d wish my life away. I wish I could have them times back. But you can’t.”

The ‘Bark At The Moon’ rocker doesn’t believe he will ever stop hitting the road so he can play to his fans and is adamant it isn’t his wife Sharon who makes him tour.

He added in an interview with Australian news website “When I was 21 I said I’d be dead before I was 40. That was fine until I was 39-and-a-half, I thought I’d stick around for a few more years.

“I can’t say what I do is a job. I don’t have to get up and go in traffic jams every morning. It’s a relatively easy life I have. Some people think Sharon pushes me to go on tour. My wife does not push me out on stage. If I really didn’t want to go out I’d say, ‘F**k you, I ain’t going,’ and I wouldn’t go.”
