Taylor Lautner’s mean problem
Taylor Lautner struggled to be “mean” to Robert Pattinson.
The ‘Twilight Saga’ actor – who plays werewolf Jacob Black in the hit movie franchise – was pleased to be given more scenes with his pal in ‘Eclipse’, the latest instalment in the series, but hated having to be violent towards the British actor, who portrays vampire Edward Cullen.
He said: “I had a scene or two in ‘New Moon’ where I was able to work with Rob, and I was really excited to work with him for ‘Eclipse’. The hardest thing I found about working with Rob is I usually have to hit him in the scenes, and it is difficult.
“He is such a funny, nice guy. It is literally like we are doing a scene where we are yelling and screaming at each other, and he is slapping my shoulder and I’m shoving him off me. We are screaming. We are spitting in each other’s faces. Then as soon as they call, ‘Cut,’ we just bust out laughing. It is really hard to be mean to Rob.”
Taylor has grown close to his ‘Twilight’ co-stars, in particular Robert and Kristen Stewart – who plays Bella Swan – which he says helps them deal with the scrutiny over their personal lives better.
He explained: “I can’t imagine filming this franchise if the whole cast wasn’t so close of friends. It would be a nightmare. Rob, Kristen, and myself are really close. It helps a lot.”
