Joe Jonas contemplated quitting music

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Jonas contemplated giving up music because of the pressures of growing up in the spotlight.
The 27-year-old singer shot to fame as one third of the Jonas Brothers in 2005 at the age of 12 – along with his siblings Nick, 24, and Kevin, 29 – and has admitted he was tempted to give up on his music career, but each time he tried to do something different such act or DJ, he realised how important music was to his life.
However, that hasn’t stopped the DNCE singer having ventures outside of music, as he now co-owns a number of restaurants in Los Angeles.
He explained: “There were moments when I thought about hitting the reset button and doing something else. I’ve done acting, done DJing, but I always come back to music because that’s what I enjoy the most.
“I have a restaurant with two business partners in Santa Monica and we’re about to open another one in West Hollywood. We’re also opening some coffee shops. It’s a totally different thing but it’s great to have a creative outlet away from music – it’s an art form in itself.”
Joe fronts pop group DNCE and says he feels “more comfortable” being in a band as it has taken the “pressure” off him and allowed him to be himself.
He said: “It definitely takes the pressure off. I prefer to be in a band – I feel more comfortable and feel I can be myself.
“And I’m doing it with a great bunch of people I love and appreciate.”
Meanwhile, Joe said that he thinks the reason teen stars crumble is because of the immense amount of surveillance they under, and although he’s experienced that he was “lucky” to have a support network around him.
He told the Metro newspaper: “It’s a lot of pressure and you have to grow up fast while there are a lot of eyeballs on you. It’s not easy having your life put under a microscope and your ups and downs are there for everyone to see.
“I was lucky to have good people around to help me.”
