Eddie Redmayne ready for War Horse
Eddie Redmayne is “pretty much locked” for the lead character in ‘War Horse’. The actor and model – who has previously starred in ‘Savage Grace’ and ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ – would play Albert in the film, which is being directed by Steven Spielberg, The Playlist reports.
The film, an adaptation of the Michael Morpurgo children’s novel of the same name, will tell the tale of Albert and his horse Joe, who is sent off to the trenches during World War I.
‘War Horse’ has already been a stage show in London.
Eddie, 28, can next be seen on television show ‘The Pillars of Earth’ alongside Ian McShane, Matthew Macfayden and Hayley Atwell.
Oscar-winning director Steven took a few years of from helming projects recently, but is now back at work on ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’, due for release in 2011.
Despite cutting back on directorial jobs, he has worked as an executive producer on ‘The Lovely Bones’ and ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’.
