David Beckham: The comic book
David Beckham’s life is to be made into a comic book. The soccer player – who is married to former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham – is the inspiration behind new project ‘Fame: David Beckham’ which will document his rise to superstardom.
Peter Rogers, the writer of the comic, said: “Working on the Beckham book was quite different from any other comic I’ve worked on to date.
“Telling someone’s real life story was quite a challenge, and I tried to find as many ways as possible to ensure that it was visually interesting and not just a case of, ‘he did this, and then he did that’.”
The comic will also feature David’s influence on the fashion world, with his numerous style changes and haircuts through the years documented.
David, 35, will be the first sports star to feature in publisher Bluewater’s ‘Fame’ series.
Other stars to have been transformed into comic book characters by the publishers include Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Robert Pattinson and Hillary Clinton.
‘Fame: David Beckham’ will go on sale this September via website www.amazon.com.
