David Tennant gets a Fright
David Tennant is to portray a Las Vegas magician in a new horror movie. The Scottish actor – best known for his role in UK TV drama ‘Doctor Who’ – has reportedly landed his first major movie role and joined the cast of ‘Fright Night’, a remake of the cult 1985 film.
Christopher Mintz-Plasse has also signed for the movie, joining the already-cast Anton Yelchin, Colin Farrell and Toni Collette.
The movie follows Anton’s character Charlie, a teenager who is convinced that his new neighbour – played by Colin Farrell – is a vampire.
According to website Heatvision, David’s character – who was a late-night horror show host played by Roddy McDowall in the original film – has a magic show which revolves around horror-movie imagery and claims to be a vampire expert, but is less-than-helpful when Charlie comes to him for advice.
‘Superbad’ star Christopher will play Evil Ed, who joins the vampire’s coven after feeling unhappy at the way his pal Charlie has changed.
Toni will star as Charlie’s mother, who also falls under the vampire’s spell.
