Timbaland needs to change
Timbaland is changing direction because everyone copied him. The megastar producer – who has previously worked with stars including Madonna and Bjork – is now planning a more stripped down approach for his next projects.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: “I feel like everybody’s now doing what I did on ‘The Way I Are’. I started it and they followed, so I felt I had to come up with a new style, and I think I’ve got it. I call it organic.
“I’m making music the way I would have done before modern equipment and music recording.”
The `If We Ever Meet Again’ hitmaker’s next single will be `Getaway’, a collaboration with `Everywhere’ singer Michelle Branch, which will be used to promote the new Mini Cooper Countryman car.
Michelle, who has been absent since 2002’s single `The Game of Love’ with Santana, is making her comeback to the music scene with the Timbaland track, but doesn’t know for sure when fans can expect a new album.
She said: “We’re not sure what’s happening with the album at the moment, it’s finished but I’m recording new tracks all the time.”
