Warner Bros is reportedly hoping to cast Steve Carell to play songwriter Dennis Lambert. The studio is looking to develop a film based on Lambert’s life, reports New York magazine.
The biopic would be inspired by the unreleased Lambert documentary Of All the Things.
The musician wrote a number of hits throughout his career, including the Four Tops’ ‘Ain’t No Woman’ and Glen Campbell’s ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’.
He also embarked on a singing career in 1972 and recorded an obscure album titled Bags and Things.
Carell has a number of film projects currently in the works, including upcoming comedy Dinner for Schmucks and a possible sequel to Get Smart.
