Coleen Nolan making peace with weight

Coleen Nolan has vowed to stop ‘obsessing’ over her figure in a bid to have a happier life.

The Loose Women star, who has released a number of fitness DVDs, confessed that she is keen to move on from concerns over her size after previous yo-yo dieting had a negative effect on her self-esteem.

Writing in her column for The Mirror, Nolan explained: “The problem with dieting is it’s a constant battle and the moment you put down your weapons – that’s the careful eating bit – your enemy – that’s your jelly belly – starts to win. It’s a lot of fighting when you can never really win and all you do is make yourself miserable.

“So I’ve finally decided the answer is to make peace with your weight and learn to love your body – whatever shape you are. I still believe in eating healthily and exercising – which I do to my fitness DVDs – but now I do it because it makes me feel good rather than because I’m obsessed with the size of my bum!”

The 45-year-old confessed that she empathises with former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, noting that her weight seems to be “slipping up”.

She said: “Sharon Osbourne may have won some of the many battles she’s waged over the years. But she ain’t ever going to win the war with her weight. So come on Shaz, give peace a chance!”
