“Breaking Dawn” stars to be recast?
Two Twilight stars may be axed from the franchise’s Breaking Dawn adaptation due to a salary dispute. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kellan Lutz (Emmet Cullen) and Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) could be replaced with new actors in Breaking Dawn because studio Summit Entertainment is refusing to meet their pay demands.
Initial contracts for the franchise stars were for three movies, and Summit has been forced to renegotiate contracts after plans emerged to adapt Breaking Dawn in two parts with director Bill Condon emerged.
Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are believed to be close to signing deals, Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Charlie Swan) have confirmed contracts, but Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene are apparently proving problematic.
“We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” a source said. Summit previously replaced Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria) with Bryce Dallas Howard for Eclipse when Lefevre’s agents made fresh salary and scheduling demands.
“This thing is gonna be two movies,” another insider added. “With or without the cast intact.”
