ABC Family cancels 10 Things I Hate About You

ABC Family has cancelled 10 Things I Hate About You. Clues that the series was in trouble began when executive producer Carter Covington tweeted that the series was in trouble with the network and was in desperate need of fan support, reports Entertainment Weekly.

“Sad news… ABC Family canceled the show Thanks 2 our AMAZING fans – U R the reason I do this! Enjoy the last 5 eps – they’re fantastic(sic),” Covington announced on Twitter.

He also announced that the show, which will get to finish the season, ends in a awesome cliffhanger.


10 Things I Hate About You is an American television situation comedy broadcast on ABC Family beginning in 2009. Developed by Carter Covington, the show is a half-hour, single camera series based on the 1999 film of the same name. It premiered on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 8 pm and brought in 1.60 million viewers, a record for a 30-minute comedy debut on the ABC Family network during its initial 10 episode run.

E! Online reported on September 11, 2009 that additional episodes had been ordered. On January 12, 2010 ABC Family confirmed that an additional 10 episodes of 10 Things were ordered and would begin airing on Monday, March 29, 2010.
