M.I.A. asks fans for album title help
M.I.A. has asked her fans to help her come up with a name for her new album. The singer, whose video for her new single “Born Free” has been banned from YouTube, asked followers via Twitter to help name the upcoming LP.
Suggestions so far include Libertad Flack M.I.A 4 Life Mamma and Trivandrum. The album’s producer Rusko recently told the BBC that the working title is Complications, because of the length of time it took to finish.
Describing the LP, he said: “It’s crazy. It’s like mad distorted and hectic. She’s super creative. She’s one of my favourite people I’ve ever worked with. She makes the picture before the lyrics. It’s kind of all a bit crazy. She’s got a kid, a little 1-year-old baby, and we recorded his heart beat. We’d just think of crazy ideas.”
M.I.A. recently announced the release date for the album in the US via a message on a blimp, which read: “New Album 6.29.10.”
