Sacha Parkinson: Fans think I am dating Brooke Vincent

Sacha Parkinson (18) has admitted that some “Coronation Street” fans think she is dating co-star Brooke Vincent in real life. The pair’s respective characters Sian Powers and Sophie Webster were seen sharing the Weatherfield soap’s first ever lesbian kiss earlier this month, marking the beginning of what is expected to be a long-running storyline for the pair.

Speaking on This Morning about the public’s reaction to the plot, Parkinson revealed: “I have had a few people who’ve spoken to me in the street and they’ve said, ‘So, erm, did you really have to kiss Sophie?’. I go, ‘Yeah’ and they go, ‘So are you going out in real life?’. I’m like, ‘No, it’s acting’. Sometimes you have to try to explain that, but most people get it.”

Sacha, who currently balances her soap commitments with studying for her A-Levels, added that she does not know what is in store for Sian and Sophie over the next few months.

She said: “I haven’t been in work since we shot the last kiss and just a little bit after, so I actually don’t know what’s going to happen! I’m not back in work until the 12th of May and I’ve not had any scripts. But it’s Corrie and nothing ever goes smoothly!”
