Heather Locklear arrested for hit-and-run
Heather Locklear (48) was arrested after allegedly hitting a street sign with her car on Saturday, reports People. The Melrose Place star apparently struck a ‘no parking’ sign near her Ventura, CA home and left the scene without notifying anyone.
Locklear was cited for misdemeanour hit-and-run after Ventura County Sheriffs examined debris left at the scene and traced it back to her vehicle.
“While Locklear was technically arrested, she was not handcuffed or taken to a station because it was just a misdemeanour charge,” sheriff’s spokesman Ross Bonfiglio said.
He added: “We don’t have any hard evidence that alcohol was involved. We don’t know if anyone was in the car with her at the time.”
Locklear’s attorney Blair Berk claims that the actress may not have been driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. She is due in court on May 17. Locklear is currently serving a three-year probation term following a DUI arrest in 2008. The DUI charge in that case was dropped after Locklear pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge.
