Ryan Seacrest was having fun on American Idol

Ryan Seacrest has reportedly defended his behavior on last week’s “American Idol”.

The TV-presenter, who waltzed with an audience member, did the air guitar & joked with singer Adam Lambert on Tuesday night’s show, said that he was just having fun.

Seacrest told the LA Times: “Often, I will playfully do things to amp up the energy for the live show, because it is at the end of my long day. I was enjoying it. We’ve done this show for nine years… When they take me out into the audience, sometimes the energy out there takes me to a different place. That guy looked like the most inappropriate person to dance with, so I figured, “Let’s pick him up & just dance with him for a second”.”

Seacrest also said that his chat with Lambert had been unscripted when he told him: “My tongue isn’t nearly as talented as yours.”
