Ross Kemp: Extreme World to return for another series

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Ross Kemp: Extreme World’ will return for another series.
The 52-year-old investigative journalist’s gripping documentaries have been gracing screens for the past five years as he and his camera team explore various forms of hardship; including homelessness, illicit trade, drug addiction, violence and poverty around the world, and now Sky have given the go-ahead for another installment.
Celia Taylor, Head of Non-Scripted Commissioning said: “‘Extreme World’ has been a huge success for us, giving our audiences an insight into the dramatic human stories behind the headlines at home and overseas. We are delighted that Ross is returning to the channel as we know our viewers value and enjoy his brave and gripping reporting.”
The next series will hit screens next year and will see Ross travel around Libya, the USA and the UK as he tackles the touchy subject of migrant smuggling across borders, the deadly consequences of the war and the rise of violent extremism.
Tom Sheahan, Executive Producer of Freshwater Films, which produce the ‘Extreme World’ documentaries, said: “We’re thrilled to have the greenlight for series six of ‘Extreme World’. Tackling these important and gritty subjects can be challenging but we have an incredibly talented team who are committed to getting the access and telling the stories that Ross has become known for.”
It looks like next year could be a busy one for Ross as he recently admitted he’d love to make another return to ‘EastEnders’ following his numerous cameos earlier this year.
He said recently: “Yeah of course I would [like to do more scenes for the soap], yeah, why not. If I got the opportunity to make documentaries and to act, why not do both?”
Ross has appeared in the long-running soap on and off as hard man Grant Mitchell since 1990 but has admitted returning to his old stomping ground earlier this year was a little surreal because he’d just finished shooting ‘Extreme World’ in Mongolia.
He explained: “I loved going back [to ‘EastEnders’]. They say a change is as good as a break and one moment I was in Mongolia going down a coal mine meeting Nazis and then three days later I was in the dressing room at Elstree [where the soap is filmed].”
