Jenny McCarthy forced to close autism school

This has been a tough week for Jenny McCarthy – not only did she split from longtime partner Jim Carrey but she is now been forced to close her school for autistic children.

Jenny’s son Evan was diagnosed with autism when he was just 2-years-old, motivating McCarthy to do whatever she could to raise awareness about the disability. She opened up her own school for autistic kids called the “Teach2Talk Academy”, but the doors are now closing.

McCarthy’s rep tells that the decision was a result of a rift between her and the co-founder Dr Sarah Scheflen. The statement reads: “Jenny McCarthy and her partner at the Academy, Sarah Scheflen, had different visions for the school & made a decision to go their separate ways. Both intend to continue on in this important mission. Both, Sarah and Jenny really enjoyed their time working at the Academy and feel honored that they were able to provide such high quality early intervention services to so many children with autism and other developmental disabilities.”

A source says the closing of the school may be one of the reason’s her relationship with Jim Carrey became so strained. “I do not know who broke up with whom but I know that for a little bit before the school fell apart Jim was going to possibly buy out Jenny’s partner so the school would be all Jenny’s. Then, next thing I heard, that Jenny was moving out,” an insider said. “Jenny McCarthy has had the worst two months of her life. Her school and her man all vanished in about 60 days.”

The one positive in this whole mess is that Jenny has been staying busy getting the word out about autism, since April is Autism Awareness Month. Just last week, she was on her good friend Chelsea Handler ’s show to talk about donating & also noted that Handler herself had given $125,000 to the cause.
