Jim Carrey not having breakdown

Jim Carrey (48) has said that he is not having a breakdown. The film star earlier took to his Twitter page to announce a newly-found freedom, only days after confirming his split with longtime girlfriend Jenny McCarthy.

“I have freed Truman at long last!” Carrey posted, referring to the repressed and controlled character he played in 1998’s The Truman Show.

He added: “I am grateful for my avatar’s many yrs of dedicated service, but no-one has ever won the Tour De France while back peddling… so I killed him (sic).”

Carrey continued on Sunday night: “I do not plan 2 bow to expectations or to be confined by the fear of losing altitude in the statusphere! (my word)… This is no breakdown! It’s a breakthrough! And if you’ll just loosen these straps, I’ll show you the difference!”
