LA: 2010 LA Marathon
Once a year you can experience traffic free streets in normally congested Los Angeles as roads are blocked off for runners and bikes for the LA Marathon. The annual Los Angeles Marathon events include the 26.2 mile Marathon past some of LA’s most famous landmarks and through diverse neighborhoods with festivities all along the course. Block Parties with live performances are spaced along the route to entertain fans while they’re waiting for runners to pass. The biggest festivities are, of course, at the Finish Line Festival. Other events associated with the Marathon are the Health & Fitness Expo at Dodger Stadium and the Win Forever Motivational Dinner with Pete Carroll the night before the race. This year the 5k run/walk will be held the day before the LA Marathon.
The 2010 LA Marathon has a new point to point route, beginning at Dodger Stadium and running to the Santa Monica Pier.
