OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Odell is in talks to join ‘The Voice’.
The 25-year-old musician has reportedly met with the producers of the show to discuss the possibility of getting him on board as one of the coaches, in the hope he will attract a younger audience.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Producers want the show to be a big success in its first year on ITV.
“Getting [Sir] Tom Jones and will.i.am back was the first step, now they want more credible names and ratings draws. They think Tom ticks both boxes.
“Producers have had a number of discussions with him, but have spoken to others as well. It’s not a done deal yet but they’d love to have him on board.”
The ‘Another Love’ hitmaker is the next in a long line of stars who show bosses have tried to get on board for the show, which will move from its original BBC home, as well as Sir Paul McCartney, Jess Glynne, and Phil Collins.
Producers have even tried coaxing Kylie Minogue back into her spinning red chair after she left the show in 2014 having done just one series.
‘Big Brother’ presenter Emma Willis is to present the programme when it airs early next year, and producers are also reportedly closing in on a deal with superstar Jennifer Hudson for the other vacant coaching spot.
The source added: “She is huge around the world. She’s got awards coming out of her ears and has bags of talent show experience. She’s their dream option.”
