OHMYGOSSIP — Tulisa Contostavlos wants to play Lara Croft on the big screen.
The 28-year-old singer is keen to make a move into movies after previously showing off her acting skills in TV series ‘Dubplate Drama’ and in straight-to-DVD British comedy film ‘Big Fat Gypsy Gangster’ and Arjun Rose’s slasher flick ‘Demons Never Die’.
Tulisa has just made her pop comeback with new single ‘Sweet Like Chocolate’ but she is already eyeing a return to acting and thinks she’d make a great Lara Croft – the daredevil archaeologist from the ‘Tomb Raider’ video games who was famously played by Angelina Jolie in two films.
In an interview with NME magazine, she said: “I want to get back into acting again. I’d like a kick-ass role like Lara Croft in ‘Tomb Raider’, or ‘Resident Evil’ – just badass.”
The ‘Resident Evil’ big screen franchise is also based on a video game series and sees Milla Jovovich portray main protagonist Alice.
And former ‘X Factor’ judge Tulisa is not worried about the prospect of having to do her own stunts for the all-action role.
She added: “I want to do martial arts, and I want to do backflips.”
However, it would seem Tulisa’s goal of playing Lara – who she shares a striking resemblance too now she has brown hair – is a distant dream as Alicia Vikander has been cast as a younger version of the heroine in an upcoming new movie.
Admitting ‘The Danish Girl’ star can’t wait for fans to see her interpretation of the gun-toting explorer, previously saying: “What we’re doing is something quite different since they rebooted the game in 2013. It’s a whole new take. We’re doing a film of that game. I’m so excited to do it. She was such an icon, I played the game when I was a kid, but they rebooted the game a few years ago so it is now becoming more of an origins story. So it’s quite different.”
Roar Uthaug will direct the movie with Graham King as producer for the MGM and Warner Bros. co-production.
