DirecTV to save “Damages” from axe?
Sony & DirecTV will reportedly partner to keep Damages on the air for another season.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the cost sharing arrangement would be between Sony & DirecTV’s 101 Network & be similar to the one DirecTV forged with NBC over Friday Night Lights.
An insider claimed that Sony reached out to DirecTV last month after it became clear that FX could no longer fund the show on its own due to financial reasons.
“DirecTV is one of several outlets that have been approached. All options are on the table,” the source said. The critically acclaimed show is weak in the ratings with under a million viewers & a two-share in the desirable 18-49 demographic.
