Smallville’s production team have filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros & The CW, it has been reported.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that some of the fantasy drama’s team, which includes executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Miller, have alleged that the two companies have been guilty of self-dealing.
The suit further claims that Warner Bros executives offered Smallville broadcast rights to the company’s affiliates at discounted prices. These low fees resulted in decreased gross revenues for the programme in the US and overseas. In a statement, the producers announced: “Several series that are less popular than Smallville were allocated a higher per-episode fee.”
The superhero series was recently renewed for a tenth season.
