Carey Mulligan (24) has admitted that she used the 2010 Academy Awards to make contacts in the industry, STV reports.
The actress, who was nominated for an “Academy Award” for her performance in An Education, has said that she had hoped that this year´s ceremony would boost her career prospects.
“I haven´t got a job yet – so I used the Oscars to try & get a job. That was my main aim for the event – to get a job. I am still keeping my fingers crossed,” Mulligan said.
Mulligan has a number of movies coming out this year, including “Brighton Rock” with Helen Mirren and “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” with boyfriend Shia LaBeouf.
