Hong Kong film industry honours Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan (67) will reportedly receive a “Lifetime Achievement” award at the Hong Kong International Film Festival´s Asian Film Awards.

The “Sarkar Raj” star will appear in person to receive the gong, according to organisers of the March 22 event. Bachchan has appeared in more than 100 films during his career, with recent credits including “The Last Lear” and “Paa”.

Festival director Shaw Soo Wei said that Bachchan left a mark on world cinema with tremendous talent, a rigorous work ethic & an uncanny ability to reinvent himself.

The 34th festival will be held from March 21 to April 6, during which over 300 films from 50 countries will screened in the region´s 11 theatres.
