Elton John´s annual Oscars party raised £4 million for his own AIDS Foundation

According to “The Mirror”, the veteran popstar´s celebrity auction was as successful ever, despite the recent credit crunch.

“We´re supposedly struggling through a recession, and yet it keeps getting better every year,” said Elton John.

Stars at the event included Victoria Beckham, Joel Madden, Nicole Richie, Sharon Osbourne, Kelly Osbourne, Debi Mazar, Heidi Klum, Tamara Mellon, Simon Cowell, Salma Hayek, Serena Williams, Malin Akerman, Milla Jovovich, Melania Brown, Katie Price, Cheryl Hines, Peggy Siegal, Jeremy Piven, The Jonas Brothers, Hofit Golan, Eva Amurri, Hayden Panettiere, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith.

Gifts on offer at the auction included holidays at John´s homes & tennis lessons with Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi.
