Mel Gibson: “I’m not attending the Oscars”

Each year, the entertainment community and film fans around the world turn their attention to the Academy Awards. Mel Gibson, who has scooped two Academy Awards over the course of his career, has reportedly declared that he is planning to watch this weekend’s Oscars naked.

Gibson said that he will not be attending the event, but has his own entertainment lined up for the evening. “I’m not wearing anything,” Gibson allegedly told Radaronline when asked if he has an outfit prepared for Sunday’s ceremony.

“I plan on lying in front of my TV set probably wearing my birthday suit. I’m not attending the Oscars. Hey, I’ll be there in spirit. But I’ve voted. There’s always next year.”

The 2010 Academy Awards will be held this Sunday at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.
