‘The Voice’ set for ‘exciting new change’ after Olly Murs’ exit

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Voice’ is set to introduce judging duos to the panel.
Bosses of the ITV1 talent show are said to be in final talks with country music star Leann Rimes to replace Anne-Marie on the panel but when it comes to ‘Troublemaker’ singer Olly Murs – who has served as a ‘Voice’ judge for five years – his replacement will come in the form of a celebrity duo.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column: “This marks an exciting new change for the show that will shake up the format and keep it fresh as it moves into a new era.
“Having a famous duo is an exciting new concept which means the coaches will be able to support more groups who audition.
“Bosses are talking to a number of combos including stars who have performed together, are mates, were in girl or boy bands and also producer/talent combos.
The insider explained that the new format idea has come because the industry is “broader than it has ever been” and bosses are determined to “reflect” all genres of the music industry within the talent search, which awards an unknown act with a record deal and cash prize following blind auditions and a public vote.
The insider added: “The industry is broader than it has ever been and execs want the coaches to reflect that — the chart isn’t just pop, rock and RnB any more.
“Everything is still all to play for to ensure ‘The Voice’ gets the strongest line-up possible.”
The 12th series of ‘The Voice’ wrapped up just before Christmas when singing duo Jenna and Liv came out on top and the next series will air later this year, with former ‘Big Brother’ host Emma Willis at the helm.
