Taylor Swift was ‘lonely’ while writing Folklore album

OHMYGOSSIP — Taylor Swift was “covered in cat hair” and “drinking [her] weight in white wine” during her “lonely” days writing her ‘Folklore’ album.
The 34-year-old pop star has opened up about the time she spent working on the 2020 record during the COVID-19 lockdowns while she was dating actor Joe Alwyn and she’s admitted she was feeling alone but she channeled her emotions into her music.
During her concert in Melbourne, Australia on Saturday night (17.02.24), Taylor told the audience at the Melbourne Cricket Ground: “[I was] imagining that, instead of being a lonely millennial woman covered in cat hair drinking my weight in white wine, I was a ghostly Victorian lady wandering through the woods with a candle in a candlestick holder, and I wrote only on parchment with a feathered quill.
“That was in my mind, what I thought I looked like writing ‘Folklore’. That is not what I looked like … So that’s all that matters – the delusion.”
Taylor split from Joe in 2023 after six years together and she is now dating NFL player Travis Kelce.
She was recently seen supporting Travis when his team Kansas City Chiefs took on the San Francisco 49ers at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, and after their victory the pair headed out to an afterparty where Travis got into the DJ booth to sing along to her 2008 track ‘You Belong With Me’.
A subsequent video later emerged on TikTok video showing Taylor talking about the magical moment with pals, declaring: “That was the most romantic thing that’s ever happened to me.”
In the clip, Travis also revealed he almost didn’t make it to the dance floor in time for the song, telling the DJ who played the track: “You played it, and I was literally coming out of the bathroom. I’m like, ‘Yes!’ It was the perfect time.”
Taylor added: “And then we met in the middle. I was like, ‘What is happening in my life right now?'”
