‘I’d had enough!’ Danny Dyer reveals real reason for EastEnders exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Danny Dyer has claimed standards dropped by the end of his ‘EastEnders’ run.
The 46-year-old actor – who left Albert Square last Christmas after almost a decade playing Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter – has taken aim at storylines and even some of his own castmates as he admitted he’d “f****** had enough”.
Speaking during a fan event in London this week, he said “The first few years we f****** smashed it. It was powerful s***. The viewer listened to us more than these f****** c*** politicians.
“I was blessed with some amazing storylines, some s**** ones as well. They f***** it up towards the end.
“It’s a shame it had to come to an end but I’d f****** had enough.”
Although he didn’t name names, Danny also took aim at some co-stars and insisted the job should be “about teamwork”.
As quoted by The Sun newspaper’s TVBiz column, he added: “I’ve worked with a lot of actors that are c****, very selfish, it’s all about them.
“You need to look after your other actors. It’s about teamwork and looking after each other.”
However, Danny did credit his role on the BBC soap with saving his career after a run of “bad films”.
He said: “I had made too many bad films and I was reduced to going to nightclubs and waving off the balcony in places like Kidderminster.
“I couldn’t put the kids through school anymore. I had f***** it and then I get a call from [‘EastEnders’ boss] Dominic Treadwell Collins, who asked me to come down and meet him at The Langham hotel and I had just about enough petrol to get there!
“It changed my life and it changed my f****** career as well.”
Danny – who joined in 2013 – previously admitted he “didn’t know” who his character was anymore.
He told The Sun: “I didn’t quite know who I was playing anymore. It was an odd thing.”
