Fleur East reveals Rylan’s reaction after she replaced him on Strictly It Takes Two
OHMYGOSSIP — Fleur East has told how Rylan Clark has been “so supportive” after she was announced as his replacement on ‘Strictly It Takes Two’.
The former ‘X Factor’ star and pro dancer Janette Manrara will front the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ spin-off show, which returns to BBC Two at 6.30pm on 25 September, this year, and Fleur revealed Rylan is “so excited” about her show debut.
When asked if she has received any ‘It Takes Two’ tips from Rylan, Fleur said: “As soon as it was announced that I was taking on the role, Rylan sent me a message and said he was so excited and that I was going to have so much fun.”
But Fleur admits taking over from Rylan – who co-hosted the programme from series 16 to 19 – means she has “big boots to fill”.
She added: “I’ve worked with Rylan in the past and he’s an incredible presenter so I have got some big boots to fill but he’s really been so supportive.”
Janette is returning for her third series presenting the programme, and she cannot wait to join forces with Fleur.
She added: “I loved watching Fleur’s journey last year and every single dance that she brought to Strictly was just absolutely incredible so I’m really excited to have her join the team.
“She’s already really engulfed herself in the whole world of Strictly so having her by my side and having her excitement and genuine love for the show and understanding for what it’s all about is really special. I can’t wait to get started.”
Janette also teased fans that ‘It Takes Two’ will have “more entertainment” and “more genuine involvement in the couples and their journey” this year.
When asked what audiences at home can expect from the series, she said: “It’s just more fun, more entertainment, also more genuine involvement in the couples and their journey!
“Empathising with what they’re going through and getting to show everyone the behind the scenes stuff that really happens when the couples are learning their dances.
“‘It Takes Two’ always goes above and beyond to make every couple feel extremely special, so I think more of the same, apart from bigger and better and more glitzy!”
Following the first episode on September 25th, audiences can watch ‘Strictly It Takes Two’ every weekday at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
