Leslie Ash would ‘love’ to star in EastEnders

OHMYGOSSIP — Leslie Ash would “love” to star in ‘EastEnders’.
The ex ‘Men Behaving Badly’ actress is “always up for everything” soap-wise, but if she could have her pick of which one she could appear in, she would love to have a brief stint in Walford causing chaos for the Albert Square residents.
The 63-year-old actress told the Daily Star newspaper: “I love the soaps. And if I had to choose one, I suppose that would be ‘EastEnders’, because it’s in London. You know, if I was to do one that’s up north, it would mean I’d be away from home.
“But for someone my age, I’d probably just go up and play a character for a short while. I’m always up for everything. I love this business passionately.
“I never wanted it to ever come to an end.”
Leslie – who has two adult sons, Joseph and Max, with ex footballer Lee Chapman, who she has been married to since 1988 – confessed she would be up for playing a villain on the BBC One soap, as she has experience doing so in the axed medical series ‘Holby City’.
She said: “Yeah, I could, I played a villain in ‘Holby City’. Yeah, she wasn’t a very nice person but I enjoyed it.”
The ex ‘Casualty’ star also has her eye on appearing in Netflix period drama ‘Bridgerton’, which has starred Phoebe Dynevor, Rege-Jean Page and Jonathan Bailey.
Leslie said: “I’d love to do something like ‘Bridgerton’. Oh gosh, I love all the costumes and everything like that.
“I just love it. And with acting, it keeps your brain active when you have to learn lines.”
But Leslie has ruled out returning to modelling, because she thought the fashion industry “was quite tough”.
She said: “I don’t think I would enjoy it now. I always say never say never but, no, that was quite tough.
“There was a lot of traveling. A lot of traveling. And models in those days didn’t get treated that well. I mean, we didn’t get treated that badly either, but…”
