Alex Zane splits from wife Nettie Wakefield

OHMYGOSSIP — Alex Zane has split from his wife Nettie Wakefield.
The 43-year-old TV presenter proposed to the artist in 2018 after a year-long romance and they wed during the COVID-19 pandemic in a small ceremony with a restricted number of guests but went on to celebrate their union by throwing a lavish party party in August 2022.
Alex confirmed the break-up in a statement given to the Daily Mail newspaper’s Eden Confidential column, saying: “We leave each other in the best way possible for two people who have shared incredible experiences, full of love and laughter and as many happy memories as two people can make in that time.
“We remain best friends despite making the decision to go our separate ways. Our friends and family have been very supportive through this period, and we appreciate all the help we’ve received.
“Obviously, leaving behind a relationship is never easy, but we move forward knowing we have the other to rely on.”
He went on to insist the split is “amicable” and the former couple will remain close friends to co-parent their beloved dog Simon together.
Alex added: “It’s as amicable a separation as can be and, of course, we’ll continue to co-parent our whippet, Simon.”
The former ‘Popworld’ host previously dated stars including Sarah Harding, Pixie Geldof and Sadie Frost but was said to have found true love with Nettie.
After their engagement news, a source told The Sun newspaper: “Alex has been knocked for six since meeting Nettie and has fallen head over heels. He’s completely smitten and soon realised he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.”
