Noisy camels could give England the hump at World Cup

OHMYGOSSIP — England players could be kept awake by camels outside their World Cup base.
The Three Lions will be staying at the Souq Al Wakra Hotel for the tournament in Qatar but their plans for rest and relaxation could be spoilt by a pair of moaning, groaning and bellowing camels.
The humped animals live in a fenced-off pen on the beach just yards from lodges that will be occupied by the FA’s 95-strong delegation of players, coaches and support staff.
The camels’ groans interrupted one frustrated cameraman’s attempts to film the hotel and forced seven re-shoots.
A local cafe owner told the Daily Star newspaper: “The camels like to talk. It makes them popular with the tourists. Maybe they will keep England awake so Qatar will win.”
A Tripadvisor review also presented a warning to England’s players, with one user writing: “The sound insulation in the room is very bad.”
Meanwhile, England manager Gareth Southgate says his squad are determined to make the nation “proud again” – less than 18 months on from the agonising defeat in the Euro 2020 final – as they departed for the Middle East on Tuesday (15.11.22).
The coach said: “It was a nice moment to be with the group and Prince William, who has been a huge supporter of ours. I know how passionate the players are about their country and it was great to see what it meant to each of them as they came forward.
“As staff and players, we are all so privileged to represent England and we are excited to see what’s possible together. We want to make the fans proud again.”
