King Charles in ‘suspense’ during The Repair Shop appearance

OHMYGOSSIP — King Charles admits the “suspense is killing him” during in a trailer for his ‘The Repair Shop’ appearance.
The 73-year-old royal is to appear on an episode of the restoration show as part of the BBC’s centenary celebrations, and he is eager to find out how a piece of pottery made for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee and an 18th century bracket clock are getting on.
In a clip ahead of his appearance the episode – which will air on 26 October at 8pm – Charles jokes: “Have you sorted this? The suspense is killing me.”
During the episode, Charles is taken on a workshop tour by ‘Repair Shop’ host Jay Blades, and admits he thinks apprenticeships “are vital”.
He says: “I can see the difference we can make.”
The 73-year-old monarch met with Jay and his expert team to explore their shared passion for preserving heritage craft skills.
The episode was partly filmed in August 2021 and Jay, ceramics expert Kirsten Ramsay, furniture restorer Will Kirk, and horologist Steve Fletcher were invited to Dumfries House in Scotland to meet the royal, who was then still Prince of Wales.
On the programme, Charles gives Jay a tour of the estate before they meet students on the Building Craft Programme, which was set up by The Prince’s Foundation.
Jay admitted it was easy to find common ground with the king.
He said: “You’ve got someone from a council estate and someone from a royal estate that have the same interests about apprenticeships and heritage crafts
“It is unbelievable to see that two people from so far apart, from different ends of the spectrum, actually have the same interests.”
