Stephanie Beacham returning to Coronation Street

OHMYGOSSIP — Stephanie Beacham is returning to ‘Coronation Street’.
The 75-year-old actress will reprise her role as Ken Barlow’s (Bill Roache) former flame Martha Frazer, 13 years after a brief fling with the cobbles legend resulted in him leaving his wife Deirdre Barlow, who was played by the late Anne Kirkbride.
She said: “I am delighted that Martha has returned to Weatherfield. It is an absolute joy to be working with Bill again.”
Ken – who recently rekindled his relationship with another of his ex-lovers, Wendy Popadopulous – will be left stunned when Martha arrives to help out with the Weatherfield Players Am Dram production, and it’s not long before his head is turned by her and he finds himself in a classic soap love triangle.
Bill added: “I was delighted when Wendy came back into Ken’s life. I love that the writers are drawing on the rich history of Ken’s life to come up with these stories. When I found out that Martha was also going to make a return I was thrilled, but I fear heartache may be round the corner once more for Ken now he has found himself in another love triangle.”
Martha will arrive in Weatherfield on November 23rd, sailing back into Ken’s life on her canal barge.
Ken first met Martha when he was out walking his dog Eccles in 2009 near the Weatherfield Canal.
While his pet pooch fell into the canal, Martha used a fishing net from her boat to save the canine and she offered the pair a place to warm up aboard her vessel.
