Emmy Awards: Jennifer Coolidge takes first win

OHMYGOSSIP — Jennifer Coolidge had a “hard time speaking” as she accepted her first Emmy Award on Monday (12.09.22).
The 61-year-old actress beat her ‘White Lotus’ co-stars Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Natasha Rothwell and Sydney Sweeney, as well as ‘Dopesick’s Kaitlyn Dever and Mare Winningham to take home the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category, but admitted on stage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles that her preparations had caused a few problems.
She said: “Thank you! Gosh, what a night! I just want to say to my fellow nominees, just to be in your company, it’s incredible.”
Jennifer then explained she had taken a lavender bath before getting ready for the show and “it made me swell up inside my dress.”
She added: “I’m having a hard time speaking. Anyway, this is so thrilling!”
As she went through her list of thank yous, the music began to play Jennifer off stage, prompting her to beg for more time.
She said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I’m full, I’m full! Okay…”
Meanwhile, Jennifer’s co-star, Murray Bartlett won the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie accolade ahead of his co-stars Jake Lacy and Steve Zahn, ‘Dopesick’ actors Will Poulter, Peter Sarsgaard and Michael Stuhlbarg, and ‘Pam and Tommy’s Seth Rogen’.
The 51-year-old star admitted working on the programme had been “one of the best experiences” of his life.
He added: To my P-Town family, I love you, to my partner Matt, thank you for being my sanctuary.
“And finally I want to thank my mom all the way home in Australia for giving me the most wonderful foundation of unconditional love and inspiring me to believe that we can all do that for each other.
“So, thank you mum, and thank you for this.”
