Gemma Collins ‘became millionaire during lockdown’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gemma Collins reportedly became a millionaire during the pandemic.
The former ‘TOWIE’ star and TV presenter had to hand over control of her finances to dad Alan in 2020 after her Brentwood boutique went bust owing £76,000 to creditors, but she is said to have seen a real reversal in fortunes during lockdown.
As reported by The Sun newspaper, company records show the 41-year-old star made £760,000 during the pandemic.
With just over £230,000 worth of assets, she has made it to seven figures.
As well as stints on the likes of ‘Celebrity Big Brother’, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ and ‘Dancing On Ice’ over the years, she has also fronted her own show ‘Gemma Collins: Diva Forever’, and runs her own clothing line.
Gemma previously admitted her dad was controlling her finances.
She said: “My dad controls all my money. Seriously, I have to ask him if I want to upgrade my car.”
The star claimed she had earned a million just through her work on ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ after rising to fame on the show in 2011, and went onto earn £75,000 in one day from Instagram.
However, her expensive taste sparked concern from her parents, and in February 2021 Gemma noted she was on a monthly allowance of £3,000.
She added: “I’m a spender – my dad wrote me up as an absolute disgrace, I’d spent £50,000 in two months up in Knightsbridge.
“It was £1,000 a day over the cause of two months, but I was going through a bit of a hard time …
“I felt disgusted in myself; I went absolutely crazy in Gucci – shoes, bags, coats. I was staying in the Dorchester more or less every night of the week, £600 a pop, and I was wining and dining in there.”
