OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh has signed up for ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. The former ‘Coronation Street’ star is said to have considered the BBC’s offer to appear on the Latin and ballroom show “carefully” because she is filming for returning school drama ‘Waterloo Road’ at the end of the year. A BBC source said: “We have been keen to sign Kym for a while and approached her many times in the past but it has never worked out. “When we approached her this year she was interested, which was very exciting for us. “As well as her presenting work, she is filming for ‘Waterloo Road’ at the end of the year, so she had to consider it carefully.” The BBC are said to be delighted at signing the ‘Morning Live’ presenter to this year’s show. The source added to The Sun newspaper: “But, thankfully, she has come back with a yes and everyone is thrilled she is going to be joining this year’s celebrities. “It is a massive coup for us and Kym will be a stellar addition to the cast.” Last month, Kym was said to be in talks with ‘Strictly’ bosses about appearing on the show. A source said at the time: “Kym has been repeatedly approached by Strictly over the years, but it has never been the right time for her to say yes. “Conversations are ongoing and she is considering if she wants to go ahead. Meanwhile the BBC are doing everything they can to persuade her.” Former England and Arsenal defender Tony Adams was also said to be in advanced talks to appear on the show. An insider recently said: “This is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Strictly. They are thrilled to have brought a footballing legend of Tony’s stature to the table. “And they are pulling out all the stops to sign Kym as well. She has been a target for them for years, and while it is not a done deal, they are very hopeful. “She has her offer and is considering her options.”
