Ant Middleton to front new reality show Million Dollar Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Ant Middleton is to host new reality show ‘Million Dollar Island’.
The 41-year-old former soldier – who was axed from ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ in 2021 by Channel 4 bosses due to his “personal conduct”, but has since gone on to host the Australian version of the show – is set to front the new reality show, which he describes as “must-see television.”
He said: “Million Dollar Island is a must-see event on television. Think’ The Hunger Games’ meets ‘Lost’ … but not quite as brutal. This is a high-stakes challenge for regular, everyday Aussies. You don’t have to be the fittest or the strongest person to win big. Emotional intelligence and self-belief are key here!”
The show – which will be filmed in Australia but screened globally – will see 100 contestants try to stay on a remote island in the hopes of winning the grand prize of $1 million (£600,000).
Each contestant will start the game with a wristband worth $10,000 and will either win or lose more wristbands depending upon how they compete throughout the show in duels and challenges.
Ant added: “I can’t wait to see what the Aussie contestants have got, how well they know themselves and how far they’ll go to change their lives!”
Angus Ross, Seven’s Chief Content Officer, Entertainment Programming explained that Ant will be an “invaluable” asset to the show which he promised will be the “most engaging” series that Australia has seen in a long time.
He said: “Ant]is smart, tough and a brilliant strategist, qualities that will be invaluable as he immerses himself in the game play in what promises to be the most engaging and fascinating new series Australia has seen in a long time!”
‘Million Dollar Island’ is set to air in 2023.
