OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Hart called in sick for work so she could go to the gym in a bid to lose weight before entering the ‘Love Island’ villa. The 28-year-old star has detailed the two-month preparation she endured – including a vegan diet, restrictive calories and no alcohol – before appearing on the 2019 edition of the ITV2 dating show, which is returning next month. According to Metro.co.uk, on Friday’s (27.05.22) episode of ‘Embarrassing Bodies’, Amy says: “Eight weeks, gym every day, 1,800 calories vegan diet plan. I gave up drinking, I’d call in sick to work so I could go to the gym instead.” When asked why she took such an extreme approach, the former British Airways flight attendant admitted she wanted to “be attractive” to the opposite sex. Amy says: “I thought I needed to do that to be attractive to the boys that would be in the villa. “I think it’s because we’ve been conditioned that thinner is prettier. It’s completely wrong and there shouldn’t be one body type that is beautiful.” Amy believes people’s “dream body” should be the one they already have. She says: “I think people need to realise that your dream body should just be your own body.” As a part of her newfound confidence, Amy will use her time on the Channel 4 show to orchestrate a photoshoot – with six different body types – to embrace “real body confidence” as she believes we are all “sick and tired” of seeing one “unachievable” look. She adds: “I think we can all agree that we’re sick and tired of seeing the same, unachievable body standards online and on TV and magazines.”
