Piers Morgan’ stormed off’ Lorraine after addressing his Good Morning Britain exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Piers Morgan jokingly “stormed off” the ‘Lorraine’ set after discussing his ‘Good Morning Britain’ exit.
The 57-year-old broadcaster – whose new show ‘Piers Morgan Uncensored’ launches on TalkTV on April 25 – has insisted his exit from ‘GMB’ wasn’t his fault, despite walking off set during a debate about Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, and then quitting the show later that evening in March 2021.
Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Thursday’s episode (21.04.22) of her ITV show, he urged: “It wasn’t my fault! No, no, it wasn’t my fault. I didn’t walk out! Play the video of me storming back in.
“I went back in that day. I had a little time out because I wasn’t too sure how I’d respond if I stayed there listening to that idiot [Alex Beresford] giving me his two pennies worth.
“I did walk back in and I did finish that show… I chose not to apologise and to leave. I did have a great time. I did love ‘Good Morning Britain’. I loved trebling the ratings, I loved all the noise and fun we had. I’m looking forward to having the same success on my new show.”
At that point, Lorraine jokingly interrupted to plug Piers’ new show and wrap up the interview, and told him he could “toddle off”.
He then walked off set with faux outrage, and said: “I’m storming off! Never coming back here!”
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the interview Piers insisted he had a “lovely time and ITV”, and in particularly praised his on-screen partnership with Susanna Reid.
He said: “I don’t wanna create a wrong impression. I had a lovely time at ITV, I worked here many years doing Life Stories, other shows, and particularly ‘Good Morning Britain’, loved working with Susanna.
“We had this kind of arranged marriage where you get put with somebody you don’t really know, we sort of fired off each other, then we really understand each other, and just at the moment the marriage was really flourishing, we have to suddenly get divorced!”
Piers quit ‘GMB’ on March 9th 2021, after Ofcom received a record 58,000 complaints about his comments toward Meghan following her interview with Oprah Winfrey days earlier.
Earlier in the day, he stormed off the ‘GMB’ set after his co-star Alex Beresford accused him of “trashing” Meghan – who is married to Prince Harry – during a debate about her tell-all chat.
Piers has since been cleared by the media regulator, which found he did not breach the broadcasting code.
