Kimberley Walsh wins “The Great Sport Relief Bake Off”
OHMYGOSSIP — Kimberley Walsh was crowned Star Baker in the second heat of ‘The Great Sport Relief Bake Off’ last night (03.02.16).
The former Girls Aloud singer beat Labour MP Ed Balls, TV presenter Victoria Coren and football pundit Chris Kamara to the prestigious title as she mastered a batch of delicious muffins, a meaty crusty pie and a chunky three-tier sponge in the charity celebrity cooking competition.
She said of her win: “I’m so happy to be Star Baker. I’m such a big fan of the show, so to actually win, it’s a good feeling.”
The brunette beauty, 34, took the lead in the competition when she wowed judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood with her strawberry cheesecake muffins but slipped behind in the next round when she had to create a football-inspired pie.
However, it was Kimberley’s lemon and blueberry Mount Kilimanjaro yogurt cake that sealed the deal as Mary and Paul were blown away by her attention to detail.
In fact, Paul was so impressed by the cake, which featured edible animals and saw little people trekking up the mountain, that he told Kimberley she should sign up for the full series of the ‘Bake Off’ when it returns to screens later this year.
He said: “There’s signs there of a great baker, I’d even say, go and get the application form for this year’s ‘Bake Off’.”
Meanwhile, next week will see a new batch of celebrities attempt to dazzle the judges with their masterpieces as they whip out their aprons and head into the famous bakery tent.
